Refine a clip in follow-up turns with short, simple edit prompts that change one thing and keep everything else the same.

Turn 1: [describe the original shot in 2-3 sentences].
Turn 2: [one simple change, e.g. Change the lighting to golden hour]. Keep everything else the same.
Turn 3: [next change, e.g. Change the text on the shop sign to say "[new text]"]. Keep everything else the same.

Replace everything in [square brackets] with your own details.

Settings & parameters

• Send each turn with previous_interaction_id set to the last interaction's id; don't re-upload the video
• Leave store on (default) so the clip stays editable in later turns
• Use delivery: "uri" in response_format for videos over 4 MB

Variations

• Edit your own upload: pass the video file (10 s or shorter) with the edit line.
• Style pass: "Make this video look like a hand-painted watercolor. Keep everything else the same."

Tips

• Google's guide: overly descriptive edit prompts cause unintended changes. "Make the phone invisible" beats a paragraph.
• Voice editing isn't supported; regenerate if a line of dialogue is wrong.
